2020 Flash Action Strategy (FAS) Update

The last couple years students have participated in the Flash Action Strategy (FAS) every September. Last year students were educated about our Workforce legislation (H.R. 2802/S. 970) which adds physical therapists to the National Health Service Corps loan repayment program to meet the needs of underserved areas. Students contacted their Members of Congress through APTA's legislative action center by sending e-mails about the issue and asking them to cosponsor the legislation. We received a huge response from students and hope to continue the momentum of participation in 2020.

This year we are doing something a little different. Because of the 2020 Presidential and Congressional election, we have decided to focus the FAS on the importance of PT-PAC for the profession on September 15-16, with a facebook live pep rally the evening of September 14. APTA's website<https://www.apta.org/for-students/student-involvement/flash-action-strategy> has been updated on how students can participate in FAS and provide tools for schools to be involved virtually<https://www.apta.org/for-students/student-involvement/flash-action-strategy/how-does-fas-work>.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

  * Provide information to your students about FAS through APTA's website
  * Save the dates on September 15-16 to allow your students to participate

If you have any initial questions about this year's FAS please let me know by e-mailing me or calling 703/706-3163. Thank you for your help.
