Subject: Student Summer Internship Opportunity - Campbell University CPHS and Blue Cross NC

Dear Student Pharmacists,
Are you interested in a summer internship? Join our Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) for a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful work on embedding the More Than a Script<https://www.bluecrossnc.com/featured/more-than-a-script> clinical program into rural, independent community pharmacy and advancing the profession of pharmacy through provider engagement activities.
About the Internship
The goal of the internship is for the pharmacist-intern to support Blue Cross NC’s More Than a Script program in independent community pharmacies in rural communities primarily through pharmacy engagement, provider engagement, and clinical support initiatives.
The intern will work with each pharmacy team to improve pharmacy engagement by working with them for approximately one week on-site. While on-site, the intern will work with the pharmacy team to embed the More Than a Script program by providing one-on-one clinical and operational support. The intern will be placed at multiple independent pharmacies in rural communities throughout their internship. While teaching the pharmacy team, the pharmacist-intern may evaluate and apply information to promote optimal health care for diabetes and hypertension management.
In addition to supporting core More Than a Script activities while embedded in pharmacies, the intern will attend educational sessions about managed care pharmacy and will be allotted administrative time throughout the experience. Lastly, the intern will work to advance the pharmacy profession through provider engagement initiatives that encourage provider and community pharmacy partnerships.
