Greetings,

I'm interested in the position of floor director for the Community Care
Clinic. I have volunteered twice at the clinic. I start my community
rotation in July, and on May 14th, I will join the public health program on
a mission trip to Ghana. Please read below for my response.

Response:
I can be an asset to the Community Care Clinic by sharing my knowledge with
other health care professional students, assisting the pharmacy student
volunteers with drug-drug interactions, and collaborating with others to
ensure each patient gets their medication. As someone who grew up in an
underserved community, I know firsthand what it feels like not to have the
health care resources needed. Therefore my passion is to be a change agent
for the citizens of underserved communities. Becoming a floor director will
allow me to fulfill my desire and work closely with other like-minded
students and professionals. From my experience, the interprofessional
nature of the clinic makes a huge difference in the lives of the patients
and their health care needs. Witnessing the collaboration between different
healthcare professionals to make the best healthcare treatment plans for
patients lets me know that the Community Care Clinic provides high-quality
health care with heart and compassion for each patient despite their
background. As a result, it makes a positive difference in the patients'
lives as they strive to live a healthier lifestyle and practice medication
adherence.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Shantavia Edmonds
