Dear PA Colleagues,
I am writing to request your participation in a research study examining Factors influencing physician assistants’ willingness to serve as preceptors. The purpose of the study is to investigate the factors that influence physician assistants' willingness to serve as preceptors for students in North Carolina, focusing on motivators, barriers, and perceptions across various clinical settings. By collecting data through surveys, the research aims to identify key themes that can inform strategies to enhance preceptorship engagement, ultimately improving the educational experience for students and addressing workforce needs in the healthcare system. The findings will help develop targeted interventions and support mechanisms to encourage more physician assistants to take on preceptor roles.
Inclusion criteria for the study include:
* Current, past or considering to be a preceptor for clinical rotations in ANY specialty and for ANY PA program
* PA-C in North Carolina
The time commitment to participate in this research study will be a 10–15-minute survey.
This study has been reviewed and approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston Salem, NC and Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC.
The research is conducted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Medicine Science. This research is conducted under the direction of Dr. Stefanie Rachis, EdD. If you have any questions, please contact me at the number below.
I appreciate your consideration to participate! The link below will take you to the survey. **IF you have already received and filled out through another outreach email (EXXAT, etc), please do not fill out again 🙂
