Hi Laura,
Happy New Year! I am writing to share information about the upcoming NCS-ACOFP CME Conference that will be held at CUSOM on February 28, 2026. I think the topic may be of interest to faculty, students, and alumni in the Physician Assistant Program. I am providing a summary below and attaching a flyer if you wish to forward that to others in your department.
The Winter CME Conference is returning to its original location at the Campbell University Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine. The one-day CME conference will be held on Saturday, February 28th and will focus on Managing Mental Health in Primary Care. You can review the lecture schedule here.<https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:US:d0760169-9857-41a4-ab97-d8c6b6fc2357>
This continuing medical education program is designed to support primary care physicians and other health care professionals in their role in addressing patients' mental health needs in clinical practice. The program will emphasize practical, evidence-based strategies for recognizing, managing, and supporting individuals with a broad range of mental health conditions within the primary care setting.
Topics will include the integration of lifestyle medicine techniques to support mental health, best practices for managing benzodiazepine tapers, and approaches to addressing pediatric and adolescent depression and suicide. Additional sessions will explore the complex relationship between mood disorders and chronic pain, strategies for managing treatment-resistant depression, and the principles of applying trauma-informed care. CME credits include AOA and AMA credits.
Registration is open for attendees. Attendees can register using this link<https://pci.jotform.com/form/252716874227161>.
Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for sharing this information.
Nancy
