Happy Spring DHSc students,

Welcome to your summer term course, Organizational Leadership! Just an early communication for your planning amidst busy lives. This course will be held Wednesdays 6:30- 8p on Zoom Our first class is Wednesday May 14th. Attached is the Syllabus for your review and planning. Dr. Shock will be your guest faculty for the first class. Come prepared with creative leadership questions for her!



You will need 2-3 three books for the course:

  1.  Kouzes, J. & Posner, B. (2023). The Leadership Challenge, How to Make Extraordinary Things Happen in Organizations. Seventh Ed. Wiley. This is available used and inexpensively. An international bestselling text based on evidence used around the globe translated into over 20 languages.
  2.  Lombardo, M. & Eichinger, R. For Your Improvement: A Guide for Development and Coaching. Fourth edition. Korn/Ferry Company. You can find a used copy of this one inexpensively too. Suggested if you have direct reports or plan to have direct reports in the future.
  3.  A leadership book of your choosing to read and present on independently or with one peer. A book you have not read previously. Your choice of independent or teamwork assignment, since one may fit better into your busy life. More information about the assignment is forthcoming with Syllabus, but some students liked selecting and starting to read. This may be a book you have always wanted to read and never had time or one that inspires you today. Please select a current book you have not read before. This exercise will be both educational and inspiring.
