Hi all,

Your second anatomy practical of Block 3 will begin at 12:00p on Monday, March 4; the schedule has been posted to Blackboard. You are welcome to utilize the lab for studying until 7am on Monday morning, after which the lab will be closed for exam setup. Please make sure you carefully wet down the bodies and cover them with the muslin wraps, paying particular attention to the feet. The state of the cadavers determines the clarity of our tags and distal elements dry out very quickly. We greatly appreciate your efforts in helping to keep these regions preserved and the lab tidy by throwing away trash, cleaning any spills, and returning models, bones, and other resources where they were found.

**As ever, it is expected that you will take this examination at the time specified below; failure to do so requires a reasonable excuse, such as personal illness or serious family emergency. As per the Academic Bulletin, appropriate documentation to support an excused absence is required and must be submitted to the Course Director for approval.**

This practical exam will have 40 identifications. You can expect 2-4 ultrasound and radiographic images, 4-6 osteological tags, and the remainder being tagged on the bodies and/or models. There may be 1-2 "2nd-order" questions. Given that some structures appear in multiple regions, structures have appeared more than once on past practical exams. This is not to say it will happen again, but do not assume that writing the same structure more than once on your answer sheet means that one response has to be wrong.

On Monday, please arrive to the 4th floor outside of the lab 5 minutes before your assigned exam time - you will be entering through the door by the restrooms at the far end of the lab where the lab coats are stored. Please do not leave personal items in the 4th floor lobby outside of the elevator. You will not be permitted to retrieve them until after the next group has started their exam. Leave all personal items in your locker.

The only item you should bring into the lab is a writing implement. You will receive an answer sheet upon entering the lab; go directly to your assigned station - you will not be donning gloves or a lab coat. You do not need to wear scrubs, but you must wear close-toed shoes and long pants:

La Fave - Ries: arrive by 11:55a, deposit all personal items into your locker, and be ready to enter the lab. An exam proctor will let you know when it is time to enter the lab.

Robertson - Zhang: arrive by 12:55p, deposit all personal items into your locker, and be ready to enter the lab. An exam proctor will let you know when it is time to enter the lab.

Abdelmalek - Donnelly: arrive by 1:55p, deposit all personal items into your locker, and be ready to enter the lab. An exam proctor will let you know when it is time to enter the lab.

Dauw - Kuhn: arrive by 2:55p, deposit all personal items into your locker, and be ready to enter the lab. An exam proctor will let you know when it is time to enter the lab.

There is to be no discussion of the exam prior to the optional exam review, which will run from ~4:05-4:30p in the lab.

Best of luck in your preparation, please contact me with any questions,

Dr. Green

Warm Regards,
MedEd
