All,

The countdown has begun!! We are so excited to have you here with us in a couple of weeks. You have already received a lot of important information and steps to complete, thank you for staying on top of those items. Below you will find more information regarding orientation day and things you need to do prior to the day.

Attached you will find the Orientation schedule which encompasses the first two weeks.


PRE-ORIENTATION MATERIAL:
Blackboard Access Opens May 28, 2025
Starting May 28, you will have access to Blackboard, our learning management system. Please log in to:
*                  Review each of your courses (syllabus, format)
*                  Familiarize yourself with the Blackboard interface
*                  Prepare for the first lecture by reviewing the Week 1 materials

Accessing the DPT Organization Page
In addition to your courses, you have access to the Doctor of Physical Therapy Organization and your class page. To navigate there:
1.                      On the main Blackboard page, select Organizations from the left-hand panel.
2.                      Click on Doctor of Physical Therapy.
3.                      Navigate to Program > Content > DPT 2027 Cohort.

Here, you'll find essential information related to:
*                  Student Government and SIGS
*                  Advising Forms
*                  Schedules
Please note that we will review these items during orientation. Also, additional materials will be added over time, and you will be notified when new items are available for viewing.

Required Pre-Orientation Recording
Before attending orientation and beginning classes on June 2, please view the following recorded overview. This video contains information for your success during this transition, including:

Please ensure you view this recording before orientation and the start of classes on June 2, 2025.


Orientation Day

When & Where:

  *   For those receiving university issued laptops please arrive at 7:45am for check-in
  *   For those who are utilizing their own laptops please arrive at 8:30am to the lobby.
  *   The address is: 4150 US HWY 421 S. Lillington, NC 27546. The Tracy F Smith Hall of Nursing and Health Sciences.
  *   You will receive your parking stickers at orientation, so for this day you may park anywhere that does NOT have an F/S in the parking spot.
  *   Come into the building at the center doors on either side of the building and find the check-in table.

Dress Code for Day 1 Orientation:

  *   Please wear business casual dress. i.e., slacks, dress shirt, skirt, dress, reasonable shoes. You will have your first lecture in the afternoon.

Food-Orientation Day:

  *   We will provide a light breakfast, coffee, baked goods, as well as lunch, Zaxby's.
  *   If you filled out the survey with a dietary restriction I will be in touch directly regarding options. (make sure you have completed this)
  *   We recommend that you bring a water bottle each day with you
