Good morning,
The news of Dr. Buzzell leaving our department may come as a shock. She has been a valued member of the faculty and certainly a tireless advocate for all of you. Her creativity, passion for our profession, and dedication to Campbell DPT will be missed. I, on behalf of the rest of the DPT faculty and staff, want to thank Dr. Buzzell for her outstanding contributions that made all of us better.
As you will experience throughout your professional journey, surrounding yourself with excellent people is essential for you to be your best. Unfortunately, this also means these same people will have wonderful and exciting opportunities that may pull them away from their current role. This is one of those instances, and we all wish Dr. Buzzell the best of luck in her new adventure.
I want each of you to know that the department faculty and staff are here to support you, the same as always. If you have concerns or questions, please feel free to reach out directly to me or your faculty advisor for assistance. Students who had Dr. Buzzell as an advisor will receive an email this afternoon notifying them of their new faculty advisor.
Enjoy your well-earned break,
Dr. Myers

Subject: Dr. Buzzell news
Dear Class of 2024,
With great excitement for the future and deep sadness for what I am leaving behind, I announce I am leaving Campbell so I can pursue a position at the University of Minnesota. When I moved to North Carolina 14 years ago, I never imagined I would complete two doctorates, three residencies/fellowships, and officiate in a final 4. And I never imagined leaving. However, throughout all those years, the most vital lesson I have learned is the importance of continuously seeking spaces where I can flourish.
What I want to express is thank you for giving me that space. Thank you for allowing me to be my best self and for accepting me in all my forms. Thank you for being you, too. Your authenticity and desire to grow made it easy for me to bring the same. If you share with your patients an ounce of the joy you shared with me in my office or before class, you will heal them inside and out just like you have blessed me. And thank you so incredibly much for your kindness and support. It is rare to find, and I don't take for granted for a second how lucky I was to be in rooms with you surrounded by it every week.
I will forever remember each one of you and the journey we have been on, and I hope you will keep in touch. Congratulations on your graduation!
Sincerely,
Dr. Buzzell
