Good morning!

I hope your week is off to a great start! For those of you I haven't virtually met yet, I'm Dr. Bridget Eubanks and I am the course coordinator for your DPT 726 Clinical Experience I course this summer (I know it's crazy to already be thinking about summer!). This is a longer email, but it is for your benefit, so please hang with me.

DPT 726 is your first clinical experience in the Campbell DPT Program. This course provides an early integrated clinical opportunity to practice skills acquired in courses you are taking this semester. Each student will be assigned clinical hours (on Fridays) throughout the semester in order to experience a day in the life of a PT now that you have started your DPT educational journey. Each student will attend two Fridays in different clinics.

Fridays during your summer semester are blocked for you to be assigned clinical hours for this course. Fridays during the summer semester are not days off. With that being said, you will have some Fridays unscheduled, however, please do not make personal plans on these days as clinical assignments have not yet been made. The Fridays during the summer semester are: 5/20, 5/27, 6/3, 6/10, 6/17, 6/24, 7/8, 7/15, 7/22.

I understand that there may be significant family events you want to attend that require availability on a Friday, which is why I allow each student one Friday to "block" in which I will not schedule your clinical hours. You must have a reason to block a date. Appropriate reasons for a blocked date include family events such as weddings, graduations, etc. Reasons that do not count for a block date include weekend trips/vacations, social events, etc. I will attempt to avoid scheduling any clinical hours on Friday, July 1, 2022, but that is dependent on slot availability.

ACTION ITEM: Please email me by 5pm on Friday, February 11, 2022 if you need to block a specific Friday for an APPROPRIATE reason. You do not have to email me if you do not have any conflicts or dates you would like blocked. If I do not receive an email requesting a block date with an appropriate reason, I will assume you don't need any dates blocked.

DO NOT email me asking for more than one Friday or asking for a Friday without a legitimate reason. Additionally, I will not honor requests after the February 11 due date unless special circumstances arise.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Enjoy the rest of your week!
Dr. Eubanks
