Dear Campbell Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Thank you for your patience this week as we have implemented an important network project that will benefit the entire university across all campus locations.

On Sunday, February 20, the network team upgraded the equipment that controls network traffic on all campuses. This project was needed for multiple reasons: to replace aging equipment that would soon become unsupported, to improve security, and to increase network performance overall. This was a coordinated effort involving the Campbell University IT Services network team, the equipment vendor, and our internet service provider.

Throughout the week, all campuses have been affected by unexpected issues with our network traffic and the team has worked non-stop with our vendor to prioritize and address these network issues.

By mid-day Thursday 2/24, the wired and wireless networks were functioning, with network traffic being handled correctly between the University and our internet service provider. Students, faculty, and staff have reported improved performance as well.

The team is still working on getting the external Law clinics and remote campus locations completely back online by the end of this week. The Camp Lejeune campus is scheduled for Monday, February 28.

A project of this complexity and magnitude is challenging to implement in an environment that expects 24 hour per day/7 days a week internet connectivity. We have learned a great deal from this effort that will help us improve how we execute projects in the future, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we strive to make necessary upgrades and improvements to the services we provide to all of you.

To stay updated on the status of University IT services, we encourage you to visit the IT Status Page<https://itstatus.campbell.edu/> and subscribe to receive notifications of scheduled maintenance and outages.
