Rangers have announced that they are commissioning a statue to honour the
legendary manager Walter Smith. Smith is one of the most successful
managers in Scottish football and he led the club to ten top-flight titles,
five Scottish Cups and a UEFA Cup final in 2008. The statue will be located
at the Copland Road end of Ibrox and will be dedicated to Smith's memory.
Rangers commission a statue of legendary manager Walter Smith

Rangers are planning to commission a statue of legendary manager Walter
Smith at Ibrox to mark the first anniversary of his death. The former
manager was a legend at Ibrox, winning 21 domestic honours during two
spells as gaffer. He also managed the Scottish national team and the
English Premier League club Everton.

Smith was Scotland's under-21 and under-18 coach and travelled to Mexico
with Sir Alex Ferguson. He joined Rangers in 1986 and was appointed as
assistant manager to Graeme Souness. He helped Smith win three league
titles and four league cups while at Ibrox.

Old Firm rivalry is the biggest in the world

The rivalry between Celtic and Rangers is the biggest in the world, and
matches are notorious for causing mayhem and murder. Some games cost over
PS1 million and have even caused sectarianism. However, in recent years,
the rivalry has cooled off a bit.

Despite recent problems, the Old Firm rivalry still has a universal appeal.
Although the quality of the game has fallen over the last few seasons and
both teams have struggled off the field, the rivalry remains one of the
best in the world. This is vital for Scottish football, which needs to get
back to its former glory. Sadly, the days of McCoist and Laudrup are long
gone.
Smith's dominance in the 1960s

During his dominance of the 1960s, Walter Smith's Celtic were unbeatable.
Growing up in the East End of Glasgow, Smith idolised the Rangers
footballers of his halcyon days and dreamed of wearing the light blue
jersey one day. Although he never played for the Rangers, he was talented
enough to turn professional and spent several years with Dundee United.

He steered the national side for a brief period of time, and took part in
United's FA Cup victory over Millwall at Wembley. However, his tenure as
Scotland manager was not without incident. Scotland had slipped from the
top two in the world rankings when Smith was appointed to replace Bertie
Vogts. While he didn't lead Scotland to major tournaments during his spell,
he did lead them to a famous victory over France during Euro 2008
qualifying.
Ibrox clash with riot police in 2005

Rangers have announced that they will be commissioning a Walter Smith
statue to commemorate the late manager's legacy at the club. Smith won 21
domestic trophies in two spells with the Light Blues and was a highly
successful manager. He also managed Scotland and Everton. Smith's career
spanned three decades and spanned a wide range of fields, including
international football.

In his time at the club, Smith led Rangers to six Scottish top-flight
titles. In 1993, he guided the club to the Champions League final, where
they lost out to Marseille. He also helped the Rangers to equal Celtic's
record of nine consecutive league titles.
Levy partnership with Rangers

As the first anniversary of Walter Smith's death approaches, Rangers are
taking steps to honour the former manager, who died last October. The
73-year-old won 21 trophies during two spells at Ibrox, including 10 league
titles. He was also the manager of Scotland and Everton. In addition, he
led Rangers to the 2008 UEFA Cup final, where they were beaten by Zenit
Saint Petersburg. Rangers have now decided to honour him by erecting a
statue at Ibrox.

Despite the immense debts, the Rangers board continues to maintain a cool
head. This has been seen in a series of articles, including one that
appeared in The Guardian on 30 September 2002. The club is now PS52 million
in debt, but chairman John McClelland has tried to reassure fans that the
club is not insolvent.
Molton Brown partnership with Rangers

The Scottish Premiership is on the horizon after Rangers' victory in the
2019 Scottish Cup final. The club won their first league title in ten years
and broke the world record of fifty-five league wins. The club is currently
the most successful team in Scottish football.

In the first league match, Rangers beat East Stirlingshire 5-1. The match
had a record attendance of 49,118 spectators. Rangers subsequently played
four draws and a defeat, which was an All-Scotland record for a fourth-tier
league game. After this, they fought back to reach the Scottish Cup
semi-final, where they lost 1-0 to Dundee United.
Applied Nutrition partnership with Rangers

Applied Nutrition, a Merseyside-based sports nutrition company, has
announced a new partnership with Scottish club Rangers. This deal will see
the Applied Nutrition brand featured in the stadium and on the club's
digital platforms. The brand offers a range of products including energy
gels and pre/intra workout blends. Applied Nutrition is one of the fastest
growing privately owned sports nutrition companies in Europe.

The partnership with Rangers is a new and innovative one. In addition to
the Applied Nutrition partnership, the club has announced new partnerships
with Castore, Go Radio, Socomec, Levy, and MatchWornShirt. It also
announced that the club has become an official hydration partner with
Lucozade Sport.
