[PT2021] CU offering COVID shot for students

Hi everyone,

To follow up on Dr. Shearin's email, if you are looking to receive one of the higher efficacy vaccines (Pfizer or Moderna), here is some information for you:

  *   Hogan's Pharmacy in Lillington is offering the Moderna vaccine. They release their available slots each week and as of the time I'm sending this email, they have 10 open spots for this Friday, April 7. Keep checking the website each weekday for slots they make them available: https://hoganspharmacy.com/covid-vaccine-waitlist/
     *   When you get to the site click on "Book an Appointment", then pick a time slot and go through the rest of the process. Remember, as of today, EVERYONE is eligible, so when it asks if you are eligible based on the NC state phases, click yes (because you are!).
  *   Use this website to find other locations: https://myspot.nc.gov/
     *   From what I can tell, most of the CVS and Walgreens in the area are completely booked, but I haven't checked the Harris Teeters and a lot of those are listed in the Fuquay area code (which is what I used).

Hello,

Many clinical partners are now requesting students have the COVID vaccination.  This also impacts their quarantine policy should exposure occur.  The latest newsletter announced that Campbell University will offer students the single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine during two upcoming clinics on the main campus in Buies Creek.  The free vaccinations will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 9 in the John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center's McCall Court and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 21 in the second-floor ballroom of the Oscar N. Harris Student Union. Students must be at least 18 years old to receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Students already in DPT 802 choosing to get vaccinated should discuss the needed absence with their CI and email me.  The schedule is based on hour blocks, so you should only need at most  3-4 hours absence  to allow for appointment and travel.  This  will be an excused absence.
