All,

Below is the correspondence I just sent out to our third year class. Please send your love to them as this is something they have worked and planned for months. This is something that all other cohorts have been able to enjoy. They are sad, and I am sure mad. If you bought a ticket, we are working on getting back the money paid to the company. The treasurer will be in touch with all those who purchased a ticket. The class may hold something their week of graduation but more will come out about that from them if they chose to hold something. Thank you all for your understanding during this time.



It is with a heavy heart that I officially announce the cancellation of your Gala. I have waited to send this as I was very hopeful we could work something out. This has been such a fluid situation and literally communication has been changing by the minute. The events that have happened in our country over the last couple of weeks are unprecedented, and we all need to work together to stop the spread of this virus. I know that this is very hard for you all to accept, but I also know that you understand the circumstances we are all in and facing. I am working with the location to have them reimburse us at this time. I have mentioned to Melissa maybe trying to hold something whether it be a Gala or just a gathering the week of graduation. I am sure that Melissa will be in touch with you about this possibility in the months to come.
Again, I am so very sorry to deliver this news. I wish you all the best and wish you all health.

Subject: CPHS Student Organization Events Update


Good afternoon!



The safety and well-being of students, staff and faculty are paramount. In response to the University’s decision to transition face-to-face classes to online and remote learning and to limit and/or cancel university-related events, we are requesting your help in navigating this situation with CPHS student organizations and any events that may have been previously scheduled. We are currently being advised that events scheduled through April 6th need to be cancelled to limit interaction of large groups of people.



The following events scheduled from March 13th – April 6th  need to be cancelled, or rescheduled at a later date. In order to enhance the effectiveness of our communication, we are requesting that advisors contact their respective student members regarding these events and the necessary steps to follow. Our office is available for support and help in navigating deposits and contracts.



3/19 CPHS Lip Sync Battle – Phi Delta Chi

3/20 DPT Student Gala

3/24 Vampire Cup Blood Drive – PSEB

3/27 Rho Chi Induction Ceremony – Rho Chi

3/28 CUPA Soccer Tournament – Wallace Student Society

4/3 Formal – PDC

4/4 Formal – Kappa Psi (in Wilmington)



If you are aware of any large events scheduled during this time period that are not on this list, please let me know. We will be in communication with students about what to do with smaller meetings and events, and the opportunity to transition those meetings to a virtual forum. Online fundraisers are currently not being affected by these transitions, as long as the student organization wishes to continue.
