Subject: 1st Week of DPT Classes January 4th

Dear Class of 2021,

I truly hope you are enjoying some time off at this moment. We are busily preparing for the start of spring semester on January 4th. I want to provide some updates regarding that first week schedule.
First, we will be requiring each of our DPT students to return to campus on the morning of January 4th for a rapid COVID test. We were successful last semester in remaining on campus and want to start strong again. We can't predict what will be mandated or happen so all we can do is plan for the situation now. We are ready to return back to our hybrid model of learning next semester, yet are also prepared if we are required to go remote. We are planning to be back yet need your cooperation to come to campus the morning of January 4th at 10am Lab A and 10:30am Lab B (same lab groups). Testing will occur in our lab spaces by our health center. With this change, we have altered the first week schedule to allow for an open Monday morning. I have attached the excel document to show your first week and then it returns back to the previous established calendar. I have also added a time for you and I to reorient that first day online at 3pm. We will also distribute masks and a face shield that first day or your first day of lab. Kim East will email you your locker information that Monday. Please come the first day wearing a mask. We have slightly updated the COVID policies (attached) yet they are very similar to last semester. The only major difference is the option to self-purchase goggles to wear in place of a face shield if wearing a recommended mask from CDC. Either goggles or face shield have to be worn in the lab spaces for class.

Students, I truly hope you are all doing well and will see you in a couple of weeks! Please let us know if you have any questions.
Happy holidays,
Dr. Weaver
