[PT2021] Week 1

Hello Class of 2021,
I hope you are enjoying your holiday season and are ready to start a busy semester of fun! We know there are going to be bumps in the road but we also know that we can get through them if we work together - it sounds cliché but I believe it to be true. I don't know what this next year is going to be made of, but I do know that it is your last year of PT school so lets make the best of it. In one year, you will have graduated and will be finishing preparations for the NPTE. In fact, I see that the process begins with Scorebuilders coming up soon.
For Monday, we will be conducting the COVID quick and easy rapid tests that morning in-person in Smith Hall. Please come with a mask on at 10am for Team A and 10:30am for Team B. The faculty decided to keep the pairs/groups the same. If there is a particular good reason for a change, please let Rachel know in advance. You will be given a new face shield and some masks on the first day of lab. Kim will be emailing locker combinations. Also on Monday, I saved 3-4pm so we can chat as a class and catch up prior to the start of the semester: https://campbelluniversity.webex.com/meet/pweaver.
                You may be wondering what happens if a student tests positive on Monday. If that is the case, the student will follow the positive case steps set forth by the university: https://www.campbell.edu/coronavirus/campbell-ready/campus-health/protocol-for-positive-cases-exposure-notifications/. Faculty are preparing for this scenario to keep each person on track. If a student is quarantined, the faculty are recording the labs so the student can follow along and then practice the skills when they return in-person. We are committed to working together to keep the team on track through hybrid and alternative actions. We just need you to do your parts too. I am attaching the lab policies again.
                I am attaching an updated Week 1 schedule and an updated overall semester schedule/booklist/exam schedule. Remember to let Kim know if you prefer to take your exams in-person; otherwise, they will be remote.
                Lastly, in an attempt to have a location to store documents that you may need to return to on a regular basis or that we update at times there is an Organization on Blackboard that you are a part of titled Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. It is not used for class materials but more department level materials such as the schedule, advising list, Scorebuilders info, etc. Your folder in the Content area is titled DPT 2021 Cohort. For example, if there is a change the advising list that would be emailed out to you but it would also be stored here or if there is a change in the schedule you would be informed and the updated document is housed here.
                Lastly, lastly, we have made the hard decision to hold on the pro-bono clinic for one more semester. We are still in the mix of this pandemic and not quite ready to expand through telehealth. We fully intend to restart the pro-bono clinic in the future.
