Subject: IPE First Year Event Student Survey

Hi Everyone,

We have one last email to send to students about the First Year Event. Please send this out to your students so they can respond to the event survey.

Thank you all again, and as always, for helping us communicate with your students and for helping out with the event. Please let me know if you have any questions.

***

Dear Students:

We would like to thank you all for attending and participating in the IPE First Year Event on Monday. As you know, this year was the first time our office has coordinated an Escape Room event and this was done at a massive scale for the nearly 450 students who attended the event. As we have mentioned, in years past the First Year Event featured different activities - a guest speaker, book discussion, interprofessional cases, for example. This year the event featured a much more involved and demanding scenario in order to truly capture the experience and value of working in an interprofessional team of healthcare professionals.

We are thankful for all of our event volunteers (facilitators and event staff) for making this event successful (let alone possible!). But we also are thankful for each of you for making this event successful as well. We appreciate your patience and your hard work as you worked with your teammates through a scenario that was intentionally designed to require your engagement and collaboration.

We hope you enjoyed the activities and discussions you engaged in, and that you walked away with a better appreciation for interprofessional collaboration. In your next IPE events, you will gain a deeper understanding of working with different professions, along with furthering your skills in team leadership and team-building, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the values and ethics involved in interprofessional teamwork.

Please use this link<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KKBRFSQ> to respond to the IPE First Year Event 2019 Student Survey. In this survey, you will be asked to retrospectively answer some items regarding interprofessional competencies. This means that you will think about your level of understanding before the event vs. after it. The goal here is to see how the event impacted your different competency levels. There will also be opportunities to add your own comments.

Again, thank you for attending the IPE First Year Event. We look forward to seeing you at the next IPE experience!

Thank you,

Marisa Vaskalis
