Hi all,

Below is a request for instructing pharmacy student in proper use of DME for customers. It would be fun if 3-5 of you can lead the lab for the lunch break. If you are interested in helping with this, please email me and I will work with the first 5 who reply.

What a fun interprofessional opportunity to show what we can do in the community.

Dr. Constantine

Hi Dr. Constantine,

I'm on faculty with the pharmacy program, and Dr. Ann Marie Nye and I are coordinating the skills course for our third year pharmacy students in the musculoskeletal block next fall.

For one of the large group lectures in the course, we would like to cover general concepts with DME/adaptive equipment for older adults with musculoskeletal conditions. Many of these products are sold in pharmacies, but pharmacists often don't receive much, if any, training on the appropriate uses/limitations of these devices. As such, we would like for them to get a broad overview from a PT, and then have them divide into small groups to complete comparison presentations of various products (rollator vs. standard walkers, etc.). Would you be willing to 1) present to the students for 1 hour in the fall on this topic and 2) consult with Dr. Nye and I on product comparison topics?

Please let us know if this is something you would be interested in helping us with. The lecture is currently scheduled for Monday, August 19th from 12-12:50pm.

Thank you!
