MUSC offers new industry fellowship

I’m excited to let you know about a new opportunity for your graduating students and alumni!

SkinCeuticals, a part of L’Oreal USA’s Active Cosmetics Division, and the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) College of Pharmacy have announced a new partnership to create the state’s first pharmaceutical industry fellowship.

  *   The one-year postdoctoral fellowship will prepare the fellow to become a highly marketable professional in the field of dermocosmetics, which is defined as scientifically developed skincare recommended by health care professionals and distributed in health care outlets worldwide, including pharmacies, drugstores, medi-spas and e-retailers.

  *   SkinCeuticals will fund the fellowship with an educational grant in partnership with MUSC, which will provide teaching and learning opportunities, under the guidance of a fellowship director. The fellow will directly work with SkinCeuticals for a period of one year.

  *   This unique postdoctoral training offers a pharmacist an immersive introduction into the industry, including hands-on experience, network building and an industry-specific education. This experience may provide additional opportunities, such as precepting students to develop the fellow’s academic portfolio, and may lead to participation in the MUSC curriculum, creating/delivering seminars or earning additional certifications.
Minimum requirements:
The fellow, who will be based in Charleston, must have a Pharm.D. or Ph. D. in an applicable area of study focus, excellent oral and written communication skills, high ethical standards, professionalism, leadership capabilities and an interest in industry.
