[Pharm27] PSEB Community Service Opportunity

Hello future pharmacists,


As your Pharmacy Student Executive Board* (PSEB) Service Chair*, I’m
excited to share a meaningful volunteer opportunity with *The Underground
Railroad (UGRR)* in Lillington. On *Friday, November 14th, from 1–4 PM*,
we’ll be supporting their Wellness on the Railroad event by hosting a *Health
Screening Fair*. This will include blood pressure checks, blood glucose
testing, and education on OTC medications.


While we’re there, UGRR will also be hosting a *free community giveaway* of
toiletries, household supplies, and clothing. Our role is to offer health
services — not required for attendees — but this is a powerful chance to
build trust, grow relationships, and show up for our community in a
meaningful way.


To participate in this event *AND *future UGRR service opportunities,
you’ll need to complete a *1-hour certification training* offered *on-site
from 1–2 PM*. Even if you can’t stay for the full event, I HIGHLY recommend
attending the training to get certified for future events — like the Toy
Drive Health Fair on* December 20th*. This training is a very shortened
version of what the UGRR usually requires, which is typically 3 to 4 hours
long, so I HIGHLY recommend taking advantage of this opportunity!
