[Phar26] Maddox Games 2024 Reminder

Hello everyone,

I wanted to send another reminder that the Maddox Games will be held on *March
15th, from 12:00 - 3:30 PM. *This event will host a variety of games to
work together and compete with your fellow pharmacy classmates and faculty
outside of the classroom. Where different activities and events will grant
your respective pharmacy class (P1, P2, and P3) “Maddox Games Points” (MGPs)
where the pharmacy class with the greatest number of MGPs at the conclusion
of the event will receive a free breakfast event of their choice that will
be sponsored by PSEB. In addition the winner will have their pharmacy
class’s information engraved on a plaque.

*Prizes for the winning Pharmacy Class:*

   -

   A free breakfast event of their choice before PPD
   -

   Class year engraved on to a plaque


Maddox Games Timeline:

March 11th - March 15th: Spirit Week

   -

   For each day of spirit week the Pharmacy Class (P1,P2,P3) with the
   largest proportion of students that participate will receive 1 MGP.


March 11th - March 15th: Service Week

   -

   A food drive will be held for 5 days, after which the total amount of
   donations raised by each individual class will be counted.
   -

      1st place: 3 MGPs
      -

      2nd place: 2 MGPs
      -

      3rd place: 1 MGP


March 15th: The Maddox Games

   -

   12:00 - 1:00 PM: Lunch
   -

   1:15 - 2:15 PM: Volleyball tournament + Scavenger Hunt
   -

      *Note: Each person is limited to choosing one of the two events to
      participate in (Volleyball or the Scavenger Hunt)
      -

      Volleyball Tournament between P1, P2, P3, and Faculty/P4
      -

         The winner of each game will be the first team to 21 points or the
         team with the greater number of points after 12 minutes.

         Each pharmacy class is limited to having one team.
         -

         There is not a requirement for the minimum number of players on a
         team.
         -

            A maximum of 6 players are allowed on the court at one time.
            Additional players can serve as substitutes that will
rotate into play.
            -

         Tournament Format:
         -

            Will have a Winner’s/Loser’s bracket
            -

         Rewards:
         -

            1st place: 2 MGPs
            -

            2nd place: 1 MGP
            -

      Scavenger Hunt:
      -

         Each pharmacy class will have one respective team. Each team will
         be given a list of clues and the team that successfully
solves the greatest
         amount will be the winner:

         Rewards:

            1st place: 4 MGPs

            2nd place: 3 MGPs
            -

            3rd place: 2 MGPs
            -

            4th place: 1 MGP
            -

   2:30 - 3:30 PM
   -

      *Note: Each person is limited to choosing one of the two events to
      participate in (Dodgeball or the Quiz Bowl Competition)
      -

      DodgeBall Tournament between P1, P2, P3, and Faculty/P4
      -

         Format:

            There will be a buzzer system, where the first team to buzz in
            will have the opportunity to answer the presented question.
            -

               A correct answer will result in one Quiz Bowl point being
               awarded to the answering team.
               -

               An incorrect answer will result in a deduction of one Quiz
               Bowl point of the answering team.
               -

                  The question will then be able to be answered by the team
                  that was the next quickest to buzz in.
                  -

            Rewards:
            -

               1st place: 4 MGPs
               -

               2nd place: 3 MGPs
               -

               3rd place: 2 MGPs
               -

               4th place: 1 MGPs
