Due to the growing demand for lawyers to represent unaccompanied immigrant children removal proceedings, IJC has opened a supplemental Justice Fellow recruitment for our cohort starting in September 2024. Justice Fellows will be assigned to experienced legal services providers working primarily with unaccompanied immigrant children released from federal custody.

IJC Fellows receive training, mentoring, community building, and networking support. Over 90% of our Fellows remain in the immigration field after the fellowship. All IJC Fellows serve for two years and receive a full salary and benefits.

The application deadline is Sunday, March 10th at 11:59PM EST.

IJC, the first and only fellowship of its kind, identifies promising law graduates and advocates passionate about immigration, grants them a two-year fellowship, and places them with legal services and community-based organizations where they can make the greatest difference, supporting them with training and expert insights as they directly assist immigrants in need. IJC's goal is to build a community of like-minded advocates who are passionate about making a difference, committed to supporting each other, and foster all that is needed to sustain them in their important work.
There is an especially high demand for Justice Fellows to provide critical legal services to unaccompanied migrant children. Applicants with an interest in preserving the rights of migrant children are strongly encouraged to apply.
