The Campbell Law School community is invited to join Biden Administration senior officials for a virtual event at 11 a.m. EST on Friday, Jan. 28,  to convene and recognize 99 law schools – including Campbell Law – who responded to the Attorney General’s Call to Action to the Legal Profession to address the housing and eviction crisis and help increase housing stability and access to justice in their communities.

Joining the press conference will be:

· Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff

· Attorney General Merrick Garland

· Vanita Gupta, Associate Attorney General of the United States

· Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo

· Gene Sperling, Senior Advisor to the President, American Rescue Plan Coordinator

· Law School Deans representing 99 law schools across the country

Specifically, Campbell Law School Professor Tolu Adewale with the Blanchard Community Law Clinic will represent the law school during the press conference. Adewale and Clinic Director Ashley Campbell are working closely with Legal Aid of North Carolina’s Raleigh office to take landlord tenant cases pro bono this semester. The clinic will be representing clients in summary ejectment hearings in small claims court in Wake County. Both Professors Adewale and Campbell handled landlord/tenant cases during their respective time at Legal Aid.
