Association of Corporate Counsel Presents Winning the Battle of the Forms Lunch-and-Learn presented by Robinson Bradshaw | August 17, 11:30am - 1:30pm
Questions often arise when goods are sold by exchange of forms (such as purchase orders, order confirmations, and invoices) between the buyer and seller. Both the existence and content of the resulting contract are sometimes questioned in such situations. Misunderstandings of this fundamental process can lead to unanticipated – and sometimes unfavorable – results when disputes later arise from the use of competing forms. This presentation is designed to serve as a refresher on the basics of this “battle of the forms” and to provide practical guidance about ways to avoid including unexpected terms in a contract for the sale of goods. No cost for students, full-time law school faculty and staff, and RTAC-ACC members and their non-lawyer colleagues. The Aviation & Space Law Committee Writing Competition of the ABA Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section | Entries Due by September 9, 2022.
Students can participate by submitting a 20-page paper addressing a recent development in any area of aviation or space law or discussing an area of aviation or space law where a controversy or disagreement exists. The winner is given a $500 cash award and up to $1500 reimbursement for hotel and transportation expenses to attend and speak at the ABA TIPS Aviation Litigation Conference in Washington, DC on October 27-28, 2022. The winning paper will also be published in an upcoming edition of the TIPS Aviation and Space Law Committee’s newsletter. The program recipient will receive a $5,000 scholarship and a paid summer associate position. The scholarship will be paid at the conclusion of Nexsen Pruet’s 2023 summer associate program.
