Effective Jan. 4, 2022, Mallory Underwood will join the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University as director of the Career and Professional Development Center, which helps match students and recent graduates with employers for internships and jobs.

Prior to joining Campbell Law, Underwood was a partner at Teague Campbell, where she practiced for more than a decade. There her practice included workers compensation, insurance coverage, automobile negligence, premise liability and employment law. While at Teague Campbell, she served on the firm's hiring committee and was active in the firm's student summer internship program.

"With her extensive law practice background, Mallory is ideally suited to further elevate Campbell Law's profile and placement across the country," said Dean J. Rich Leonard. "Her professional acumen and legal community connections will serve our future graduates well."

Following her time in private practice, Underwood spent approximately five years mediating a variety of civil and worker's compensation cases as a North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission certified mediator. Most recently, she has specialized in strategic communications for Metro Productions.

Active in the community, Underwood's volunteer experience includes serving as the chair of the board of directors for Magellan Charter School, past vice president of fundraising for Magellan Partners in Education and past chair of the board of trustees for the First Baptist Church of Raleigh.

She graduated cum laude from University of South Carolina in 1992 and earned her JD from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1995. While in law school, she served on the Moot Court Board, earned a spot as a finalist on the Tulane Sports Law Moot Court Team and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers.

"We are so excited to have Mallory join our team," added Assistant Dean of Career and Professional Development Center April Giancola. "The students will greatly benefit from Mallory's diversity of lived experience and her thoughtful approach to mentorship."
