Dear 2L Students,

I write to inform you that the faculty voted to end the Jurisprudence course requirement for all 2025 graduates and beyond. Jurisprudence classes will continue to be offered as a valuable elective but will not a prerequisite to graduating.

If you are currently enrolled in a Jurisprudence course, but prefer to take another elective, please utilize the add/drop period. Otherwise, please keep your spot. I do want to encourage you to continue to view Jurisprudence courses as foundational to the study of law - regardless of whether it is required or not.

Kindly,

Dean Tilly
