[Law24] PLEASE READ! ABA survey requirement (plus JOBS)!

Good afternoon,

On behalf of the Career Center, I first want to say an enthusiastic CONGRATULATIONS to all of you on completing the bar exam! Those of us who have taken it certainly understand what you went through this summer as you practiced, prepared, and sat through the test. We hope you have been able to take some time for yourselves and enjoy some much-needed rest and relaxation since last week. You have earned it!

ACTION ITEM:

You all may know that as part of the law school's accreditation process the ABA requires us to report employment statistics for all graduates. If you have secured a job since graduation, please take a moment and either (1) log in to Symplicity, go to My Account and complete the survey which can be found under Employment Survey (instructions attached) OR (2) complete the fillable PDF that is attached to this email and send it back to me. Either way works so do what is easiest for you. If you are still looking, please complete the survey as soon as you secure a job. It only takes a few minutes to fill it out and we greatly appreciate your attention to this very important ABA requirement.

JOBS:

If you are still looking for a job, we have attached a chart with recent postings for new graduates. It is not exhaustive but hopefully it will give you a good start as you regroup after taking the bar and continue your search.


  *   McAngus Goudelock & Courie in Charlotte is seeking a new associate. Email a resume and cover letter to Webster Harrison webster.harrison at mgclaw.com<mailto:webster.harrison at mgclaw.com>  to apply.
  *   OSCAR has 2 new postings for federal clerkships starting this fall with Judge Catherine Eagles in Greensboro and Judge Susan Rodriguez in Charlotte.
  *   Hoke & Moore Counties are in need of attorneys to take court appointed cases in district court. If you are interested, reach out to me and I will put you in contact with a district court judge in that county to discuss.
  *   If you are interested in working in any underserved county in North Carolina (cities other than major metropolitan areas like Raleigh, Charlotte, Greensboro), whether in a private firm or public service, please reach out to me and our office will connect you with resources. There are many opportunities across the state in all practice settings and areas.
  *    If you want to work for the government, remember to regularly check state and municipal websites for openings.

If you have specific questions or want to talk about job search strategy or anything else related to your career and professional development, our office is here to support you. Just reach out! We are proud of you for all you have accomplished and are happy to continue serving as a resource as you begin this next chapter. We hope all of you will stay in touch with our office now that you are Campbell alumni.
