Greetings, Class of 2029…sending this early as a jumpstart to your week! You’ve got this.
It seems many are struggling with the reduction in “study time” and how to manage your Block 2 courses during the week. So, here are my top tips:
Want to listen instead? Click here Tips for Efficiency & Effectiveness<https://campbelluniversity.hosted.panopto.com/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx?id=0176a582-0623-4c1d-9e02-b37b013c1cd7>:
1. Prioritize at least 7-8 hours of SLEEP. (If you do not sleep, you will learn less efficiently, won’t be able to focus near as well in lab or watching lectures, converting new information into your long-term memory drops significantly, you could actually inaccurately retrieve knowledge, takes longer to think or do anything cognitively—so essentially things TAKE LONGER AND ARE LESS EFFECTIVE...AHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhh!)
2. Get organized & sketch out your time during the weekends/plan ahead. BUT, be willing to adjust the plan if needed because life happens—do your best and keep going.
3. 15 min. preview + ENGAGEment w/the lecture + spaced out, active retrieval. (EVERYTHING should be active—learning is active & hard work so when it is time to learning, be fully present and engaged).
4. Schedule in breaks, rest, renewal, and connecting with others…and anything else that is highly valuable to YOU. (From this point onward…if you have not already come to this realization, you are never going to have enough time. You just have to let that go…and take care of yourself and take time for things most valuable to you.)
Don’t know how to sketch out or schedule your week? Then, check out this other video for some ideas: Block 2 Example Schedule<https://campbelluniversity.hosted.panopto.com/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx?id=1ed5ac3d-725d-4d4f-b50d-b37b0142b0ba&> & Template (attached). If you are good, then ignore me 😉. And, as always, these are suggestions—do what works for you or take an idea or two and make it your own.
