Good Morning,
On behalf of Dr. Motyka I am sending out the TA program announcement. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me!
OMM TA APPLICATIONS DUE June 27th
Dear CUSOM Class of 2028,
We are excited to announce that the OMM teaching assistant (TA) program is now accepting applications for new participants. This volunteer program provides an excellent opportunity for interested first-year students to get involved. If you are passionate about teaching and eager to serve your fellow students while enhancing your OMM skills and knowledge, we encourage you to apply. Please note that the program requires a full-year commitment, spanning blocks 1 to 4, and a brief orientation will be conducted before classes commence in August.
The OMM TA program has been incredibly popular in previous years, offering numerous benefits such as helping your peers, expanding your OMM expertise, developing teaching abilities, preparing for board exams, strengthening your CV, and improving your residency applications. Below, you will find the detailed information regarding the program and its requirements.
Participant responsibilities and requirements include:
1. Assisting with table training OMM Laboratory sessions every Tuesday afternoon for 2 hours. TA assignments will change each block, with TAs participating in either the 1-3:00 pm or 3-5:00 pm session, alternating between blocks. 2. Attending TA Training Sessions in the OMM lab on Tuesdays from 8:00 to 8:25 am, coinciding with the days of OMM lab sessions mentioned in item 2.
3. Maintaining appropriate attire during lab times.
4. Maintaining good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
5. Attending all lab sessions and 75% of TA training sessions, unless excused. In the event of planned or excused absences, please notify the department promptly.

5. Improving your OMM teaching skills and hands-on OMT skills with greater support and guidance.
6. Contributing to the growth and development of the CUSOM osteopathic community.
