[Cusom28] summer research information

Dear MS1 students,
I hope you are doing well with block 2.  Now that you are well into your first year of medical school consider what else you can bring to your medical school experience.  For some of you, extracurricular research will be part of your journey to becoming a physician.
In the document I've attached, I describe some options for research. The biggest block of time you will have to devote to a research project will be the summer between your first and second year.
In this document I give a quick summary of the CUSOM summer scholars program.  The majority of the attached document describes the national summer research (and other) experiences I know of.  Please give the document a read if you want to apply for something.  Note: Many of these programs still need to update their application process from the previous year, so keep checking. (They sometimes change the links when they update the dates. If something doesn't look like a live link, try putting the program's name into the institution's website search.)  Most of these programs are renewed each summer.  A couple of applications have deadlines this month, so at least scan the document soon.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.  As I mentioned in the document, many of these will require some paperwork from CUSOM for you to apply.  Please don't wait until the last minute to request those letters or documents.
