Hello SOMA Members!

I hope everyone is doing well. Here are some general updates and events coming up.

Davie Street Health Fair Event
On August 16th from 10:00am - 2:00pm; SOMA will be distributing hygiene kits assembled with Crossing All Borders Ministry at the Davie Street Fair in Raleigh. Thank you to those who have already signed up to volunteer!! CUSOM's Community and Global Health Dept will be there as well providing health screening and OMM to those in the community.

AACOM Advocacy Day
On September 9-10;  All osteopathic students are invited to attend AACOM Advocacy Day. It is similar to DO Day…but all completed virtually and led by AACOM! This is a GREAT way to get involved with advocacy and not have to pay for conference attendance!

Golf Charity Event for Owen!
Please join SOMA and SGA in our mission to help raise money for Owen Kurtz and his family! Owen was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) last October and we want to help mitigate the financial toll this journey has placed on him by playing and/or donating to the gold event.

White Coat Flower Sale for OMS-1s!
SOMA will be selling flowers at the white coat ceremony this fall. The proceeds will go towards OMED as well as future outreach events. We will be asking for some volunteers to help sell flowers during the event. More information to come!
