Knitted Knockers for Breast Cancer Awareness Month OCTOBER

Do you knit or crochet? Or are you interested in learning? Come make "knockers" with us to donate to UNC Rex and Duke hospitals!

Don't knit or crochet, but still want to contribute? We offer 2 options:

  *   Yarn donations will go toward making more "knockers" (see below for touch hours).
  *   Monetary donations to buy yarn is greatly appreciated!

Join us in supporting the Knitted Knockers, a charity program providing knit/crocheted breast prostheses for patients of breast cancer that have undergone mastectomy or lumpectomy. Currently, UNC Rex and Duke are in URGENT need of donations.

We will be collecting yarn in the lobby of Levine Hall beginning Oct 24, 2024. Find the list of approved yarns attached (options range from $7 to $15). Please let me know if you have any questions or would like assistance with this.

Touch Hours as follows:
2 touch hours for participation in the making of "knockers"
1 touch hour for each yarn donation, max of 2 touch hours
0 touch hours for monetary donations
