Dear CUSOM Classes,
Nationally, SOMA partners with the organization, Vot+ER, to encourage medical students to become more politically active and to encourage future patients to vote and become civically engaged. SOMA Leadership Members will be tabling on Wednesday, October 11th from 10 am - 12:30 in the lobby area to discuss this organization and assist individuals in registering to vote.
Here is some information and a message from Vot+Er:

The American Medical Association formally recognized voting as a social determinant of health. In light of this breakthrough during an otherwise challenging time, I want to ensure that our community is ready to vote and that their voices are heard. Will you take 2 minutes to order a free Vot-ER badge<http://get.vot-er.org/?referral=email> to help patients and colleagues get ready to vote?

What’s Vot-ER?

· Vot-ER is a nonpartisan, health professional-driven organization working to integrate civic engagement into healthcare.

· They have partnered with over 500 hospitals, clinics, and other organizations to help over 47,000 Americans register to vote.

What’s a Vot-ER Badge?

· An easy tool where patients can access a nonpartisan, self-service voter registration platform via QR Code.

· Vot-ER badges are free for all health care workers and can clip onto an existing ID.

· An easy way to impact your patient’s health beyond the medical care they received.

How can you start helping your patients get ready to vote today?

Part of one's health is civic health and making sure that our patients have their voices heard in the nation and in their communities. You can help your patients have their voices heard by ordering a free Vot-ER Badge today. <http://get.vot-er.org/?referral=email>

Stop by our table from 10 am - 12:30 pm on the first floor of Leon Levine Hall to learn more!

Best,

Meg Basco
