Students,
This abstract deadline went out as an announcement from the Research Blackboard organization back in May, but I wanted to also send a reminder about the deadline (tomorrow).  This is a virtual abstract competition, so if you have a project ready, this is an ideal opportunity to get your work out there.  Talk to your faculty mentors today and get that abstract in! (See also the scholarship application deadline of 6/30).

The Virtual Abstract Competition is being held August 7-9, 2024. This preliminary competition will include medical students, residents, and fellows competing to present live at SMA's Annual Scientific Assembly in Atlanta, GA, at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia, October 24-26, 2024. The top 10 oral and top 10 poster presentations from this virtual event will advance and present in person at the Assembly for the opportunity to win monetary awards. The deadline to submit an abstract is June 14, 2024.
Scholarships for Third- and Fourth-year Medical Students (sma.org/scholarships<https://sma.org/scholarships/>)
The annual scholarship program features two $2500 scholarships awarded by SMA and two $2500 scholarships awarded by Constellation Quality Health, an SMA partner. Scholarships are awarded to medical students entering their third or fourth year who need financial aid and exhibit both academic and leadership qualities. Scholarship applications are due June 30, 2024.
