Subject: CUCCC Spanish Interpreter Assessment
Good afternoon, everyone,
I hope you are all enjoying your holiday break!
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as the Lead Interpreter for CUCCC for the class of 2026. My predecessor Sam Kolb has helped me transition into the role, a huge shout out to him for all the hard work he has done for CUCCC and continues to do.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered last block, your work and time are very much appreciated.
As we approach the beginning of blocks 3/7 I want to give anyone with Spanish speaking literacy the opportunity to become an approved Interpreter for CUCCC.
Please respond to this email so that we can set up a quick 10-15 minute phone call to take a Spanish Interpreter Assessment with me.
I understand how intimidating it can be to speak in a language that is not native to you, but I encourage you all to trust your Spanish speaking skills and step out of your comfort zone! If medical Spanish terminology is deterring you from becoming an interpreter do not fear, I am working on creating a document with the medical Spanish phrases that you will most likely encounter at clinic.
Being an interpreter is a great opportunity to strengthen your skills and put into practice what you have learned in clinical skills. It is a learning experience that you can carry with you through rotations, residency and beyond.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out via email at i_sanchez0926 at email.campbell.edu<mailto:i_sanchez0926 at email.campbell.edu>.
In Health,
Isabella Ramirez
