[Cusom26] Announcement -- CUSOM Clinical Chair of Surgery

We are excited to welcome Amanda Baright, DO as our new Clinical Chair of Surgery!  Dr. Baright completed her undergraduate degree in Nutrition Science and Spanish from Purdue University.  She then earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she spent a year as a predoctorate OMM fellow, before completing her General Surgery residency at Metro Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI.

Dr. Baright has significant teaching, mentoring, and leadership experience - most notably as an OMM Clerkship Director at Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine for six years.  She most recently was in practice at Richland Hospital Clinic in Richland Center, where she also served as Vice-Chief of Medical Staff.

I would also like to take this time to thank Dr. Craig Fowler for his leadership and work as Clinical Chair of Surgery over the years.  He has been a great teacher, advisor, and mentor to many students, and his service to CUSOM has always been exemplary and appreciated.  He will continue with CUSOM in the position of Vice-Chair of Surgery, serving in an additional advisory role to those students who are interested in Surgery and Surgery-related residency programs.
