Hello everyone,

In recognition of our ongoing commitment to Diversity, Equity, and
Inclusion within the DPT program, I’m excited to share this month’s DEI
infographic titled *“How Culture Influences Pain Expression.”*

This resource highlights how cultural background can shape the way patients
communicate pain, respond to discomfort, and engage in the therapeutic
process. Understanding these differences is essential for providing
equitable, empathetic, and effective care as future physical therapists.

I encourage everyone to take a moment to review it and consider how these
insights can enhance our patient interactions—both in the classroom and in
the clinic.

Please feel free to share any reflections or questions. I’d love to hear
your thoughts and keep the conversation going.

Thank you for your time and for supporting a more inclusive PT community!

Best regards,
Sema Hammoud
