Greetings Class,

While developing materials for our upcoming Exercise Physiology course (DRPT 632), I have discovered this morning that a new edition of one of our textbooks has just been recently released.
After in-depth discussion with other faculty members and Dr. Myers, we have determined that the best option is to use this most recently released 12th edition to serve you best in your learning now and throughout the new curriculum (and beyond). This decision was made after consideration of the content that has just been updated in this brand-new edition, specifically on topics including resistance training, pediatrics, and cardiac conditions. This will save you from having to switch later to the newest edition!

Therefore, for the upcoming course, we will be using the 12th edition, of the following citation:
Ozemek, C., Bonikowske, A., Christle, J., & Gallo, P. (Eds.). (2025). ACSM's Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription (12th ed.). Wolters Kluwer Health.

These can be found, for example, at these locations:
Publisher website: ACSM's Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription<https://shop.lww.com/ACSM-s-Guidelines-for-Exercise-Testing-and-Prescription/p/9781975219208> (has several formats for digital and various types of hard copy, including bundle that has both)
Amazon: ACSM's Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription (Lippincott Connect-ACSM): 9781975219215: Medicine & Health Science Books @ Amazon.com<https://www.amazon.com/Guidelines-Exercise-Prescription-Lippincott-Connect-ACSM-dp-197521921X/dp/197521921X/ref=dp_ob_title_bk> (paperback or Kindle)

The edition above will replace the prior 11th edition indicated on any resource list sent recently, of the following citation:
Liguori, G., Feito, Y., Fountaine, C., & Roy, B. (Eds.). (2022). ACSM's guidelines for exercise testing and prescription (Eleventh edition.). Wolters Kluwer.

If you have already purchased the 11th edition, please let me know by responding to this email asap (I know you are on break, so as early as you see this). You may be able to return the prior version and purchase the 12th edition instead, given the timing of this. Regardless, let me know and we can discuss so I can work on any solutions for this book and the course, as needed.

I apologize for emailing on your break and for making the leap to this newest edition just prior to the course; however, I want you to have the most up-to-date resource possible.

Thank you,
Dr. Neville
