<p style="direction: ltr;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Student Government Association, Anesthesia Interest Group, and the Global Health Club are proud to sponsor an American Red Cross Blood Drive on
<b>Wednesday, August 20th</b>! The drive will take place in the <b>main lobby of Levine Hall from 11 AM to 3:30 PM</b>.</span></p>

<p style="direction: ltr;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">We are seeking both
<b>whole blood donors</b> and <b>Power Red donors</b>.</span></p>
<p style="direction: ltr;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> </span></p>
<p style="direction: ltr;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Power Reds involve donating 2 units of RBCs, while your platelets and plasma are returned to you. This type of donation is especially important for surgeries and trauma transfusions.</span></p>
<p style="direction: ltr;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(80, 0, 80);"> </span></p>
<p style="direction: ltr;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">If you are
<b>type O, A negative, or B negative, you are eligible to donate Power Reds</b>.</span></p>
<p style="direction: ltr;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> </span></p>
<p style="direction: ltr;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">The needle used for Power Reds is smaller, and many donors report feeling better afterward since you retain your blood’s liquid components. The collection takes about
15 minutes longer than a whole blood donation.</span></p>
<p style="direction: ltr;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> </span></p>
<p style="direction: ltr;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Not sure of your blood type? No worries! You can still donate whole blood, and you’ll be able to track your donation and check your blood type on the American Red
Cross website.</span></p>
