Hi Everyone!
Attached to this email I have provided the September DEI resources. *Please*
*engage on your own terms.* This month we are learning more about
accessibility. September's resource can be found here
<https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zAcVExDiKKcIKpMPQpXr4zkH-zjY91Y9/view?usp=drive_link>,
attached, or in our class google drive's DEI resources folder.
Accessibility is crucial to our profession. According to the APTA
<https://www.choosept.com/health-centers/disabilities#:~:text=Physical%20therapists%20work%20with%20people,people%20with%20disabilities%20can%20do.>,
61 million US adults and more than 3 million children have a form of
functional disability. It is important to better understand how we as PTs
can not only help maintain function for those with disability but create
inclusive physical, mental, educational, and digital spheres for our
patients.
As always, if you have questions, concerns, suggestions, or want to talk
further about any topic, please let me know!
Happy learning :)
