[pt2025] IMPORTANT: Please read!

Class of 2025,

Per your Clinical Education Requirements and Student Agreement Form, PLEASE DO NOT COMPLETE ANY REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO OCTOBER 1. THIS INCLUDES REQUESTING YOUR CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK AND DRUG SCREEN.

By disregarding the information in the Clinical Education Requirements and Student Agreement Form and completing requirement before October 1, the following consequences can result:

  *   Increased cost to you (You will have to repeat any requirements done before October 1 so the timeline is within what clinical sites require. Exxat will not refund this money).
  *   Delay in start of clinical experience or cancellation of clinical experience, both of which could delay your progression in the program.
  *   Poor representation of CU DPT and subsequent loss of clinical partnerships for our program (sites have the right to end contracts with us for any reason, including frustration with students not meeting deadlines).

While we appreciate you wanting to complete requirements early, we have established our timeline based on the needs of our clinical partners. In the meantime, please do the necessary planning so you can complete the requirements by deadlines. We have attached the Clinical Education Requirements and Student Agreement Form again here if needed.

The Clinical Education Team feels confident in the delivery of this information, via written document that students read, reviewed, and signed off on, a scheduled meeting with the opportunity to ask questions, and a Panopto recording of the meeting to review if necessary. However, we understand that there are always ways to improve communication and are open to any suggestions to make the scheduling of these requirements clearer.

Ultimately, if the instructions on the Clinical Education Requirements and Student Agreement Form are not followed as written, the Clinical Education Team cannot guarantee that you will be able to attend your clinical experience. We are here to support your clinical education journey. We have established and modified our guidelines over the years to ensure each student's success in attending their clinical experiences.
