[Pt2024] Convocation Directions

All,

The below information is important to follow regarding Convocation, Friday December 13th.

****Make sure to wear/bring your gowns****** no hats are needed for this event. You will bring them to graduation on Saturday****

Please arrive at 9:00am to room  119 in D. Rich Friday. Ms. Shewmaker will be in the room with you and get you lined up in alphabetical order. You will be led in by Dr. Michelle Green to your seats. Once seated, remain seated till it is time to go up to receive your hood. After our guest speaker has finished speaking and Dr. Karlyn Green, Neville and myself have made our way to the stage, the first student, Milana, will stand and the rest of that 1st row will stand and walk to the stairs on the right side of the stage. Milana will stand at the bottom of the stairs till her name is called. She will then walk up and Dr. Neville will place her hood across her left arm, you may shake hands and then proceed across the stage, to Dr. Myers where you will pause, turn, shake hands and look at the photographer for pictures. You will then walk down the stairs and filter back into your seat, please be seated so that our guests can see others walk across the stage. The same thing will take place for each row. Please wait on the stairs till your name is called.

After your class president reads his remarks, the reading of your oath will take place. This will be led by Dalton. He will go to the podium and ask you all to stand and you will all read the oath together. You will then be seated. The oath will be on the back of the program which you all will receive in room 119.

Reminder that at the end of the ceremony to make your way immediately to the steps of Taylor Hall which is to the right of D. Rich when you exit out the front door for a class picture.
