2023 CPHS Excellence Awards



At the end of the academic year, the Office of Student Affairs organizes an event that recognizes the contributions and service of student leaders and student organizations.



The Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences will honor outstanding student leaders, organizations, and instructors through the 2023 CPHS Annual Excellence Awards. Recipients will be celebrated and honored on April 10, 2023 in the Student Union Ballroom at 5:30pm. Refreshments will be provided.



Excellence Award categories:

  *   Emerging Student Leader

  *   Commitment to Diversity Award

  *   Outstanding Student Advocate

  *   Group Excellence in Innovation

  *   Student Organization of the Year

  *   Group Excellence in Community Service

  *   IPE Student Collaboration Award

  *   CPHS Camel Leadership Award

Excellence Awards Policies

  *
Students and student organizations can be nominated by students, faculty, and/or staff for selection one of the awards, but nominees will be confirmed by the nominations committee to be considered.


Excellence Awards Criteria

  *   Nominees must be full-time graduate or professional students of CPHS at the time of nomination in order for their applications to be considered.

  *   Recipients, both group and individual, can only receive an award twice in consecutive years.

  *
All student group or individual projects referred for nomination must have been executed in the 2022-2023 academic year.
  *   The Pharmacy Student Executive Board (PSEB) is exempt from student group awards due to their special circumstances regarding financial support, staff support, and programming nature of their group. Individual PSEB members however ARE eligible for individual awards [CPHS Camel Leadership, and Emerging Student Leader].

  *   Individuals and student groups must be in good academic standing and have a good conduct standing with the College.

  *   Each award has individual criteria.



Excellence Awards Descriptions:



Awards Category

Awards Description

Emerging Student Leader

Recognizes a deserving student who demonstrates the qualities and personal attributes reflective of a promising student leader through involvements in the life of the campus and surrounding community. Preferably a first- year student.

Commitment to Diversity Award

Recognition of a faculty, staff, student, or alumni, who has worked to promote diversity and acceptance of ideas and individuals within the campus community through demonstrated exceptional service in the areas of diversity and multiculturalism in the course of advocacy, leadership, mentorship, educational initiatives, and/or programming.

Outstanding Student Advocate

Recognizes a student leader who has gone above and beyond in their role (as a tutor, ambassador, etc.) to advocate, mentor, and assist their peers. Students nominated for this award must demonstrate commitment to the University and the College, a positive influence on their peers, and have a significant impact on the peers they have mentored.

Group Excellence in Innovation

Recognizes a student group, community, or organization who has demonstrated innovation within the context of an event, project, or movement that has made an impact on the campus community and College with an innovative idea, program, or event.

Student Organization of the Year

Recognizes the graduate/professional student organization that demonstrated consistent flexibility, initiative, creativity, and perseverance; organized activities, events, and programs that have had a significant impact on the quality of campus life at CPHS; and made a meaningful contribution to graduate/professional students, the College, and/or the surrounding community.

Group Excellence in Community Service

Recognizes a student organization that made a meaningful contribution to the surrounding community through service, addressed an existing problem, was committed to working with and for others, and successfully inspired and motivated others to act.

IPE Student Collaboration Award
Recognizes a student that most embodied the elements of teamwork, collaboration, and quality programming that benefit CPHS; and worked most effectively with other student organizations, College departments, and/or the greater surrounding community.
CPHS Camel Leadership Award
Recognizes a student leader who provided exemplary service, commitment, and strong leadership to their student organization and/or CPHS; made a meaningful contribution to members of the organization; motivated the group; made him/herself available to student organization members and brought out strengths and talents of individuals in the group; exemplified integrity in all words and actions; and demonstrated initiative by seeking ways to challenge the present and enrich the future.
CPHS Professor of the Year Award


Recognizes the recipient who teaches in CPHS and has made a significant impact on students in their course(s) because of their instruction throughout the academic year. Nominations should include examples of impactful teaching methods, or of the instructor going above and beyond to ensure a positive classroom environment.
