Members of the Campbell DPT Class of 2024

On behalf of the faculty & staff, I want to extend a warm welcome to you all. This week marks an important milestone in your professional journey towards becoming a PT. We are looking forward to helping you along this path and want you to know that we will be there every step of the way.

As you are aware we have Orientation this Friday. I wanted to take a moment to update you on the Covid-19 mitigation efforts that are in place to maintain the safety of our campus community. Our campus has a taskforce that tracks the impact of the virus and regularly updates guidance based upon data and current evidence. The most recent guidance and information is available at https://www.campbell.edu/coronavirus/. I wanted to call attention to a couple of key items before you arrive to campus.

Covid Vaccination/Testing

  * Starting January 4, 2022, the University has instituted mandatory vaccination for Covid-19 for all students that have experiential training - this includes DPT. We have a March 7 deadline for all DPT students to be in full compliance. If you wish to pursue a medical or religious exemption you should begin that process ASAP.
  * All students must self-report their vaccination status (Click "University Self-report form" at the link above). Please complete this ASAP.
  * For students who are not fully vaccinated, you must submit proof of a negative Covid-19 test within 48 hours of January 7 (Click "report their Negative Covid status" at the link above).

Positive Testing/Quarantine

  * The University has contact tracing and protocols that vary based upon the circumstances.
  * In the event of a positive test or exposure to a known positive individual you should contact me to guide you through the process.

Covid Mitigation

  * Mask use is required on campus. Please make sure you arrive on Friday with a well-fitting mask.
  * If you have symptoms of Covid-19 you are asked to stay home and follow University guidance.
  * If you are instructed to quarantine, we will work to keep you engaged in courses or provide opportunities to get caught up after symptoms subside.

Over the last 2 years our program has been successful in keeping Covid-19 from spreading within the program. This sometimes requires changes in our strategy. At present, we are planning for a regular start (orientation and classes on January 10). However, with the recent uptick in cases, we may need to change our approach in the coming days. I will communicate if any changes are made.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday.
