Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, expected to move from Barcelona and rejoin
Lionel Messi at Inter Miami next season, scored a hat-trick against
Botafogo of Brazil Serie A on Thursday evening and could soon reunited with
him at Inter.

A 36-year-old veteran defied age to score three goals in 19 second-half
minutes.

Gremio found themselves trailing 3-1 early after goals scored by former
Chelsea striker Diego Costa and Junior Santos of their hosts, Gremio.

Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez scored a hat-trick for Gremio in a 4-3 win
over Botafogo

Gremio took an important step toward winning their maiden Brazilian Serie A
crown on Thursday night. Though trailing leaders Botafogo 3-1 at halftime,
Luis Suarez scored three times in 19 second-half minutes to turn around the
game and help his side triumph 4-3.

Suarez continued his impressive form from his time spent at Barcelona -
alongside Messi, Busquets and Alba - where he amassed 195 goals and
provided 113 assists before moving to Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

Botafogo opponent and striker Gabriel Jesus earned himself three goals
against them to surpass his total from last season of 14. His first was a
clinical finish from close range; second came when he latched onto Leonel
Di Placido's cross for a header; while thirdly and finally as he raced onto
a lofted ball from deep to claim victory for Botafogo.

Suarez’s hat-trick saw Gremio climb to the top of the Brasileirao table

Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez has been on fire since joining Brazilian club
Fluminense from Liverpool. The 30-year-old scored 14 goals in 28 league
appearances since joining Fluminense last August, prompting reports that
Inter Miami may offer him another opportunity. At Barcelona he worked
alongside Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets; now with them both back
together again at Inter Miami!

Gremio maintained their lead atop the Brasileirao table as they held off a
comeback attempt from Botafogo in Porto Alegre. Junior Santos and Marlon
Freitas scored for Gremio early in the second half, giving the home team an
initial 3-1 advantage that they maintained throughout.

Suarez then came through, scoring three goals in 19 second-half minutes to
help turn around the game and secure victory for Gremio. This result saw
Gremio leapfrog Palmeiras into first place despite still having one game
remaining against Palmeiras; Fluminense and Bragantino could both become
significant contenders to claim first place, creating an intense finish to
this season.

Suarez’s hat-trick was his 14th goal in 2023

Luis Suarez stole the show as Gremio defeated Botafogo 4-3 and overtook
them in Brazilian Serie A table. At 36 years old, Suarez has proved himself
as one of the top strikers in football. The Uruguayan scored a second half
hat-trick against their hosts to lift Gremio to top of league table and
also laid down a challenge to former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi for
nineth Ballon d'Or trophy win.

Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, rumored to be joining former
Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba at Inter
Miami in 2024, took just 19 minutes to score his hat-trick and become an
instant hero for Gremio despite trailing 3-1 at halftime against their
local rivals Botafogo. Gremio now shares top spot with Botafogo with 59
points while away supporters were heard chanting "Fica Suarez!" as they
begged their star striker not to go anywhere else.

Suarez’s hat-trick was his first in Serie A

Luis Suarez pulled off an extraordinary 19 minute hat-trick against
Botafogo to give Gremio an astounding win in Brazil's Serie A. Former
Liverpool and Barcelona striker Suarez scored three times during the second
half, helping Gremio come from 3-1 down to win 4-3 and complete an
incredible comeback against Botafogo.

The 35-year-old striker made a surprise arrival at Brazilian club Avai this
month after spending two years at Uruguayan side Nacional, scoring eight
times in 14 matches but expected to leave once his contract expired.

As evidenced by his 14 league goals this season and unforgettable display
against Botafogo at Olimpico Nilton Santos stadium in Rio, former Ajax and
Liverpool forward has demonstrated that even at his advanced age he remains
a goal scoring machine. Later this month in Recopa Gaucha Super Cup against
Inter Miami he hopes to keep up his good form and continue scoring goals at
an astonishing rate!
