Kieran McKenna, the Manchester United first-team coach, is in talks to
replace Paul Cook at Ipswich Town. After nine months at Portman Road,
McKenna will now take his place in the managerial chair.
The Fermanagh native is one of the youngest managers in senior management
at Portman Road, and he's already made an impressive impact. Stuart Watson
from East Anglian Daily Times believes he possesses all the attributes to
be a success.
Manchester United
McKenna spent 13 years in the Tottenham Hotspur academy and youth setups
before joining Manchester United as an assistant coach. During his tenure
with the club, he collaborated closely with Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar
Solskjaer on projects.
McKenna served on the coaching staff of Manchester United under both
Mourinho and Solskjaer, his primary responsibility being developing young
players through the club's academy to become first team ready.
Additionally, he served as technical coach to the squad, working with
players such as Anthony Elanga and Fred.
He's now back coaching the first-team coaching staff under interim manager
Ralf Rangnick at United. Though he had originally intended to stay, the
lure of his new job as manager at Ipswich Town proved too tempting for him
to turn down.
Ipswich are currently sitting in third place in League One and must fight
off competition from Sheffield Wednesday and current leaders Plymouth
Argyle for promotion. This will be no easy task for McKenna; he needs to be
at his best throughout the rest of the season.

Tottenham
Last month, Kieran McKenna and Martyn Pert left Manchester United's
coaching staff and took up management positions with Ipswich Town. Dan
Chapman of Leathes Prior Employment and Sports team was delighted to
represent both managers in their transitions.
Jose Mourinho was appointed manager of Tottenham Hotspur in November, just
hours after Mauricio Pochettino had been dismissed - an event which would
become the subject of Amazon's All or Nothing documentary series. The
opening episode follows Mourinho's initial days in charge and features some
captivating footage.
It also gives viewers a glimpse into the difficulty dealing with a club's
chairman, particularly Daniel Levy. In one scene, Mourinho mentions Sir
Alex Ferguson having advised him to sign Dele Alli while at Old Trafford.

Education
Leathes Prior were delighted to represent Kieran McKenna and Martyn Pert as
they began their respective careers in Suffolk. Notable among the
highlights was a trip to America for an exciting tour of hotspots across
North America - including one of the sexiest cities on earth (yes, that's
New York City!). After returning home, the lads got right down to business.
Despite a slow start in their first ever season in the top tier, Ipswich
are currently in excellent form and actively seeking promotion.
Ipswich
Mckenna previously worked under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, where
he was part of the coaching staff that won the Europa League, Community
Shield and League Cup. Now he has moved on to Ipswich Town where he takes
charge of a squad struggling in relegation zone as they strive for
promotion to Championship football.
McKenna has achieved remarkable results as a first-time manager, leading
his side to 10 wins and only two draws so far this season. Additionally, he
has brought in several players from Manchester United that should help the
club reach promotion to the Championship.
He has extensive knowledge in the football industry, having coached
Tottenham and Manchester United under-18s. With such an intimate knowledge
of the game, he believes it's essential for academy coaches to collaborate
closely with first team staff in order to provide consistent education for
young players across both senior teams.
