As future healthcare professionals and industry leaders, advocacy will be a continuous part of your daily life. Learning to advocate for your patients, colleagues, friends, and self requires the ability to understand, communicate with and effectively interact with people across many cultures. Inducing change and offering support will require you to encourage the acknowledgement and acceptance of differences in appearance, behavior, and culture, requiring one to become culturally competent. Cultural competency involves a life-long cultivation and possession of knowledge about human diversity and cultural bias based on race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, among other aspects. Join us as we discuss what this cultivation requires and how to offer culturally competent advocacy to those around us. The link to join the webinar is located in the Weekly Announcements.

This SLIPS session is required for ALL CPHS student leaders, but all CPHS students are highly encouraged to attend.

Please reach out with any questions about SLIPS!
