Good Morning Smith Hall Faculty & Staff,



With the return of students and faculty/staff members to the building, we would like to make you aware of several Covid protocols for Smith Hall.  Faculty, staff, and students are expected to self-monitor for symptoms.  I have attached the checklist for your convenience.  This list is being displayed in several places throughout the building.



  *   The entrance will be on the parking lot side of the building.  Please only use this stairwell when going up.
  *   The exit will be on the Levine side of the building.  Please only use this stairwell when going down.
  *   Remember to wear a mask in all public spaces.
  *   Please follow the 6-foot distance rule.
  *   Walk single file in the hallways.
  *   The common area on the first floor will only accommodate 15 people at a time.  They are encouraged to social distance in that space.
  *   The second-floor common area has seating that has been arranged to allow for 6-foot distancing.
  *   Each classroom, labs (2nd & 3rd floor), and common spaces have a sanitation kit.  The common space sanitation kits are located throughout the building.  Please have students and faculty/staff members wipe down surfaces at the end of class, after labs, or in study areas. If supplies are getting low, please contact Lee Holquist so she can order a refill.  Facilities is not allowing us to stockpile refills.
  *   Students are permitted to use the study rooms but should social-distance and not exceed 4 people in the study rooms.  They must wear masks in these spaces.
  *   Bathrooms will only accommodate 2 people at a time.  Signs have been placed on the door.
  *   Study rooms are limited to 4 students at a time.
  *   The fourth-floor study cubbies have been marked to show closed seats to encourage social distancing.
  *   We are only allowing 2 people in the elevator at a time.  You are encouraged to take the stairs unless you have a mobility impairment.
  *   At this time, security is on site from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.  Students will only have swipe card access during this time.  They are trying to hire another security guard and when this happens the hours will change and we will adjust accordingly.
