[PT2021] Farm Workers Clinic

Hey guys!

Harvest season is quickly approaching here in Harnett County, which means
Farm Workers Clinic will be starting up soon. For those who don’t know,
Farm Workers Clinic is an awesome program here in Harnett County that
provides medical care to the migrant farm workers who come to work at some
of the bigger farming operations in the county. Every Tuesday starting in
May, the mobile clinic visits farms in the area and provides care for the
workers. Campbell DPT has been partnering with this group for a few years
now and it is an awesome opportunity for us to do ProBono PT in an unique
setting. The mobile clinics leave later in the evening after class for the
farms and usually stay until it gets dark, or the mosquitos eat you alive,
so be prepared for late nights and probably a bit of driving. The challenge
is going to rural semi-outdoor settings to treat Spanish-speaking patients.
The reward is gaining experience in being a PT with limited resources. It
is a no-judge zone where the overseeing professor is there to help problem
solve. In all, it is a fun service opportunity to be a part of. Throughout
the summer, be on the look-out for emails about dates and how many students
will be able to attend. Volunteers are on a first come first serve basis!

May 7th, Dr. Tudini will be able to take 4 students
June 11th, Dr. Crouch will be able to take 4 students
