Gang,

See below information related to upcoming exams in 700 course.

Exam 4:

The exam 4 review has been revised and posted. We will have time on Tuesday and Wednesday to provide context of exam questions related to gait.

The exam is available for download starting on Thursday April 18th at noon and ends at 8am on Tuesday April 23rd.

Practical Exam:

I will have a sign-up sheet with me on Tuesday morning. The way this works is ½ of the group tests from 8-9:50am and the other half from 10-11:50.

You will test with your existing lab partners so I need you to sign up in pairs

Each group will decide who goes first. The subject will need to bring a blindfold. The student testing grabs a sheet off the table at front of the room. The sheet has 8 structures (divided as evenly as possible between bony and soft tissue structures) listed on the page. Structures are from different body regions. Faculty will mark assessment on the sheet you take (see practical exam rubric in blackboard for explanation). Students are assessed based on size and location for each structure on a scale of 0 to 5 with total score determined from points earned divided by 80 (total possible). Expectations and process are described below.

OVERVIEW OF CLINICAL BIOMECHANICS LABORATORY PRACTICAL EXAMINATION

Students will enter the room and sit at tables in pairs. One party from each pair will draw from a stack of examinations (examples to follow) and return to their partners. Students will have up to 30 minutes to draw the structures listed on the examination. The partner being drawn on will be blindfolded to prevent an unfair advantage. Partners are only allowed to perform or answer questions asked by the tester, as appropriate for the exam (e.g. bend your elbow for resistance of muscles or is this uncomfortable when palpating a nerve). The grading rubric is provided to students ahead of time and utilized by faculty to assess student performance.

Have a great day.
